About SkHyline

SkHyline is an innovative platform developed within the Interreg Alpine Space project AMETHyST. Its mission is to share valuable knowledge about the latest green and low-carbon hydrogen initiatives, technologies, and economic models in the Alpine regions.

By doing so, the aim is to empower local decision-makers, enhance the technical expertise of public authorities, and inform citizens about the potential of hydrogen as a sustainable energy vector.

Why "SkHyline"?

The name “SkHyline” was crafted to embody the essence of both sustainability and innovation. It is a play on words that blends two concepts: the natural skyline of mountains and the clean energy potential of hydrogen.

Hence, SkHyline refers to hydrogen initiatives developed in the skyline of the Alps. Recalling the silhouette of these majestic mountains. Connecting territories and countries, not dividing them. Just like the peaks that unite under the sky.

The AMETHyST Interreg Project

It is now more important than ever to strengthen the development of renewable energies globally as well as in the Alps. Hydrogen has the potential and many advantages in becoming a key player in the energy transition: it is easily produced with renewable electricity, it can be used for multiple purposes, such as mobility, industry or exploitation in tourist areas.

The AMETHyST project, financed in 2022 by the Interreg Alpine Space programme, supports the deployment of local Alpine green hydrogen ecosystems to pave the way for a post-carbon lifestyle in the Alps. The project aims to strengthen the role of public authorities by increasing their capacity, designing support services to roll out green hydrogen solutions and including green hydrogen in local and regional energy strategies and plans.

AMETHyST is dedicated to paving the way for a post-carbon future in the Alps through the deployment of robust green hydrogen ecosystems.

By bolstering the capabilities of public authorities, the project aims to design and implement support services that facilitate the rollout of green hydrogen solutions, particularly in key tourist destinations, marking a significant step towards energy transition.
