PRIVACY STATEMENT AND POLICY ON THE USE OF COOKIES

Pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003, as amended, and in general in compliance with the principle of transparency referred to in the GDPR, this statement describes the types of data of Users consulting the webpage SKHYLINE and using any services (e.g. the project submission form) and how this data is collected, shared and protected.

Automatically processed data and purpose of processing

When browsing this website, reading its pages, and when downloading the information it contains, the website acquires certain navigation data, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. In addition to this, a third-party website will automatically collect and store certain information relating to the visit.

This category includes: the User’s IP address, the type of browser used, the addresses of the websites from which access was made, the pages visited within the site, the access time, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server and other parameters relating to the User’s operating system and computer environment.

These data, necessary for the use of web services, are not collected to be associated with identified interested parties, but are used to make the site more useful for its visitors, to obtain aggregate and anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check its correct functioning. The same could be used to ascertain responsibility in case of computer crimes or acts of damage to the site.

No information about users/visitors will be sold, shared or used for commercial purposes.

Data provided voluntarily by Users and purpose of processing

The optional, voluntary and explicit transmission of personal data (limited to name and e-mail address) while browsing the SKHYLINE platform by submitting the Project collection Form entails the subsequent acquisition of such data for the sole purpose of responding to Users’ requests and managing the services themselves. Data processing for these purposes is carried out with the specific consent provided by the User collected through a specific registration form and the data is kept only for the duration of the requested activity.

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of personal data to the addresses indicated on this site or through the form entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s e-mail address, which is necessary to reply to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

The processing of personal data of a particular nature or juridicial data is excluded, which, if eventually provided by Users, will be deleted.

Personal data provided by Users are used for the management of telematic services related to FBK’s sites, within the institutional objectives of scientific research and administrative activities, and could be used to ascertain Users’ responsibility in case of possible digital crimes to the detriment of the site.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of text that websites send to the browser and which is stored on the User’s terminal, which can be a personal computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc. These files allow the website to monitor, personalise and save information about each User’s session, such as language and preferred options, which can facilitate their next visit and make the site more useful for the User. Third-party profiling cookies

Methods and period of data processing

Personal data is processed mainly using electronic procedures and media and in a lawful, correct, relevant manner, limited to what is necessary to achieve the purposes of the processing, for only as long as is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected and in any case in accordance with the principles set out in Article 5 of the GDPR.

Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, unlawful or incorrect use and unauthorized access.

No automated decision-making process or profiling activities are envisaged.

Place of processing and communication of personal data

Personal data on the website and related telematic services are mainly processed in the Controller’s offices located in Trento, Italy and are only processed by staff involved in the project.

Personal data may be processed by staff of service providers appointed as Data Processors pursuant to Article 28 of the GDPR, usually located in the European Union or in countries for which the Commission has taken a Data Protection Adequacy Decision or, failing that, by signing Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) with the provider for data protection adopted by the European Commission.

Rights of Data Subjects

Users (Data Subjects) have the right to contact the Controller at any time to exercise the rights indicated in Chapter III of the GDPR and, in particular, to:

  • request confirmation of the existence or non-existence of their personal data
  • obtain information about the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal data, the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be communicated and, when possible, the storage period
  • obtain the rectification and erasure of data
  • obtain the restriction of processing;
  • object to the processing at any time.

 

Data subjects also have the right to withdraw their consent at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given before the revocation.
