Roundtable in Bavaria
AMETHyST organised a stakeholder roundtable in Bavaria.
Energy consultants, local und municipal representatives, hydrogen producers, energy providers and operators and engineers, came together to discuss the political framework for hydrogen in the region, explore the status quo, potentials and barriers, and share insights into practice in the region.
Key insights from the AMETHyST roundtable:
Potential application areas of hydrogen include primarlily mobility, especially heavy duty, and gas grids with potential for energy/hydrogen storage
In order to advance the roll out of hydrogen, the following issues need to be addressed:
- Courageous entrepreneurs are needed!
- Uncertainty on the part of regulators
- Lack of funding still makes hydrogen too expensive
- Practical difficulties such as long delivery times, lack of craftsmen, etc.
- Insufficient renewable energy
