Bio Hotel – Arieshof

Arieshof is an organic farm combined with the comfort of a hotel. This project is part of a social cooperative that combines sustainability, organic farming and energy efficiency, for creating a self-sufficient farm powered by various renewable energy sources. Therefore, short- and long-term storage is needed for their fluctuating renewable energy sources. The solution to the energy storage problem is a decentralized green energy storage solution based on metal-hydride technology provided by GKN Hydrogen. Electricity produced by photovoltaics can be stored in the form of electrolytic hydrogen when excess energy is available. The storage unit has a lifetime of more than 20 years and can be used for almost twice as long as comparable battery storage units today without any loss of capacity.
